About this Game

Welcome to the ESL Car Race Game! In this interactive classroom activity, your students will have the chance to improve their English language skills while having fun racing against their classmates.  Two to five teams can compete for glory by answering questions.  This is a pretty simple game that is almost like a points tracker at heart.

How to Play Race to Fluency with No Prep

  • Divide your students into teams.  You can have anywhere between two to five teams.

  • Ask a question to all of the teams of students.

  • The fastest team to answer correctly can advance their car.  Touch their go button (to the left of the car) to make them advance.

  • The first team to reach the end of the track wins!  (To reach the end, they must advance off screen).

  • Game play tip: If a team is naughty, you can tap that team's car and send them back down the track.
