About this Game

  • Grave Danger is a spooky game that sees your ESL students answering questions and checking graves to find candy or uncover monsters.

  • This classroom game can be played with either a class divided into teams or by individual students taking turns.

  • Every result is random in this creepy game.

  • Spooky events!  As a teacher, you can tap the moon to activate a spooky event!  Loads of different events to see.  This can be screen flickering, crawling bugs on the screen, fog, a waving skeleton or a whole lot more.

  • This English class game was designed for the classroom with an interactive board or projector, but you can play with even a laptop or online!

How to Play Grave Danger

  • Start by choosing if you'll play with teams or without.  If playing with teams, set a reasonable number of points to reach in order for a team to be chosen.  10-20 points is a good amount to choose.

  • Ask a question to the class, an individual student, or to the teams.

  • The student that answers chooses a grave and touches it.  The student will either uncover a treat (a piece of candy worth 1-3 points) or a trick (a monster worth no points).  If you're playing in team mode, add that many points to the team's point tracker at the top of the screen.

  • Play until either a team wins or every student has had a chance to play and (hopefully) earn some candy.

Game Modes Available in Grave Danger

Free Play: Ask students questions freely and let them choose graves to uncover.  This mode is great to use for school Halloween parties!

Team Mode: 2-4 teams compete to collect a certain number of points first.

Cool Features

Randomized and animated gameplay

Built in sound that can be turned on or off

Two to Four Teams can play in Team Mode

Customizable score to reach for versus mode: Set the score to reach to determine a winner.  Set a smaller number for a shorter game and a bigger number for a longer game.

Odd Occurrences: More than 10 animated odd occurrences can occur when playing.  These events are triggered by touching the full moon at the top right of the game screen.  (I recommend tapping it in secret or using a mouse to trigger them).

Several more secrets are included in the game.  You can read about them in the included instructions.

Question Prompts: There are four question prompts that you can use when playing this game.  You can change between these at will.  The game download includes directions on how to prepare prompts 2-4.

  • No prompt: Simply ask a question to your students without a prompt in the game.  Ask any question you like.  Using this mode takes no preperation before starting the game.

  • Text Question Prompt: Prepare text questions and answers in advance using the included text document file.  This prompt will display your prepared questions when playing.

  • Picture Prompt: This prompt displays pictures that you've prepared in advance.

  • Keyword Prompt:  This prompt displays a set of keywords that you've prepared in advance.
