How to Play UFO Carnage

  • Allow teams to choose their UFO and their team's color.

  • Ask a question to the teams at the same time.

  • Follow the on screen instructions and select the team that answered the question.

  • You'll be taken to that team's UFO and city.  The UFO moves back and forth until it is stopped.

  • A student from the team that answered comes should press the flashing red button to have their UFO fire its laser at a building below it. 

  • If timed correctly, the laser will hit a building and destroy it. 

  • Play until a team destroys all of the buildings in their city.  That team wins.
     

Game Modes Available in UFO Carnage

Team Versus Mode: Two teams compete to answer questions in order to be the first to destroy a city.

UFO Grabber: This is a free play game mode and is somewhat similar to a UFO grabber crane game.  The UFO moves back and forth and students must stop it in order to pick up a number.  Before playing you should assign a picture or task to each number.  When grabbed the student must make a sentence, say the picture, or complete another task that you have designated for that number.  Award points accordingly.  This mode has a lot of flexibility so you can make up any sorts of rules tha you like and you could even play it as a team game.

Team Versus Mode is playable with two teams.

Permanent Destruction: A building that has been destroyed will stay destroyed until a new game is started.

Fire Again Option: After a team fires the laser, you can allow them to fire again.  If you want a fast game, allow the teams to fire two or three times.

Question Prompts: There are four question prompts that you can use when playing this game.  You can change between these at will.  The game download includes directions on how to prepare prompts 2-4.


 

  • No prompt: Simply ask a question to your students without a prompt in the game.  Ask any question you like.  Using this mode takes no preperation before starting the game.

  • Text Question Prompt: Prepare text questions and answers in advance using the included text document file.  This prompt will display your prepared questions when playing.

  • Picture Prompt: This prompt displays pictures that you've prepared in advance.

  • Keyword Prompt:  This prompt displays a set of keywords that you've prepared in advance.
